Bornholm – Danish Island for Weddings

Visit Hammershus

This impressive medieval fotress is the largest castle ruin in Northern Europe.  Its oldest part dating back to the early 12th century.  Visit the castle and learn about its rich and fascinating royal history.  You can get married at Hammershus Ruins and enjoy a wonderful outdoor wedding with panoraimic views of the historic land and Baltic Sea.

Bornholm’s Medieval Centre

Located in Osterlars near Gudhjem in the centre of Bornholm, the Medieval Centre (or ’Middelaldercenter’ as its known locally) gives you a living, sensory experience by letting you see, smell and touch medieval scenes involving people, animals, houses, a watermill and a fortified rampart.  This interactive approach makes it a great place for children who can learn through play by trying on foot soldiers uniforms and shooting a bow and arrow.  As well as hearing a canon and harquebus being fired. 

Anya and Thor chose to have their wedding at the Medieval Centre Bornholm and really got into the spirit.  If you’re a pair of history lovers then a wedding at Medieval Centre Bornholm could be just the thing for you.

Bornholm Island weddings – bring your dog!

The outdoorsy nature of Bornholm Island make it a great place to visit with your pet. Us Danes are a dog loving nation and love nothing better than to meet any four-legged members of your family. 

Anika and Grant, an american couple living in Germany, bought their dog with them on their boho wedding adventure in Bornholm and after the ceremony they drank champagne and enjoyed a wonderful outdoor photoshoot around the rugged coastline.

Bornholm – get onto the beach!

Nowhere in Denmark is the coastline more varied than on Bornholm where you’ll find steep cliffs, cosy coves and flat sandy beaches.  If you’ve already dreamed of saying ’I do’ with the sand between your toes to a soundtrap of gentle lapping waves then a beach wedding Bornholm could be just the thing for you.
